Who am I?

- I'm the father of two children. My son is 22 and my daughter is 18 years old. I am the accompanist at UC Merced and also at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Turlock. I plan to return to school to finish my MA in Choral Conducting this fall. I love being married to my husband of 18 years.

The Teacher & The Little Girl
A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.
The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small.
The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.
Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.
The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah".
The teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?"
The little girl replied, "Then you ask him ".

You should NEVER feel this way Smallwood. Maybe some students don't apperciate you now, but just wait. I promise it will get better. Maybe going to a new school all of a sudden and having all of these emotions and hoping that it will all get better was too much. I overheard my friend in choir today talking about how her mom's friend's daughter is in your class and how they don't treat you with the respect that you deserve. DON'T let that get you down. You are an amazing teacher and I can say on behalf of everyone who I know who you have taught, you have done so much for everyone. Everybody thinks that you are just a great guy. A great guy that anybody could of came and talked to, a great guy that was always there smiling everyday, a great guy who brang joy to many people who went to Johansen, and a great guy who loved his class. And not just the students, your preformances made everybody who attended walk out of there with a smile. You have brought joy to so many people. I understand that it was a hard change but don't let it ever get you down. Just think of all of the people you have helped throughout your career and think about the good so you don't reflect on the bad. We all love you dearly. Take care, Gina.
