Fortune Cookie Fortunes

I love Chinese food! Next to La Morenita's food in Modesto, Chinese food is my favorite and I could eat it almost every day. One of my favorite parts of a Chinese meal is when they bring the fortune cookies; I like cookies and I think that the fortunes are funny...even when you don't add, "...between the sheets" at the end of the printed fortune.

Years ago, just after my longer-than-eternity divorce began, I was eating some Chinese food at school and found a really funny fortune; since then I have begun a habit of saving these little tokens of wisdom. Before I left Johansen, I had many of them taped on the edges of my computer monitor. I leave some here for your reading pleasure!

For a few years, I had an amazing student T.A., Carol, who helped keep me organized; she's gone on to study music and is a fine conductor of whom I am very proud! Seeing all the fortunes taped to my computer monitor, she typed one of her own and taped it up there, waiting until I finally noticed it. It made me really laugh hard.

Mine says, "You will not see the light of another day."

Is that bad?

Dear Phil,
I love your blog! You and my daughter have the saving of fortunes in common. She tapes them to a piece of paper and hangs them in her room. She would eat Chinese food everyday if I let her.
Love,
Leslie
